My Great Strides Story
Leah Rossett
Fundraising for Shreveport Great Strides 2026
Leah Rossett
Hi gang! It's been a while since we raised funds for the CF Foundation via Great Strides. Won't you walk with me? This year, I've named my team "65 Rossetts" in honor of Ricky Weiss, a CF patient who at the tender age of 4, heard "65 Roses" and not "Cystic Fibrosis" - in other words, the team name is a play on words using my last name and this saying! And wow what a journey with "65 Roses" I've had. With the advancements in research and medication, I was able to have a sweet baby girl last year. Praise the Lord! She can't technically walk yet at just 7 months old, but she will "stride" with us on April 18.
My team goal this year is $2,500 but I would love to come back with a bang - will you support me in that goal and help grant more people the opportunities that I've had?
About CF:
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
