This spring, as part of team Sarahtonin Boosters, I’m hiking 30.1 miles of the Appalachian Trail in just one day. 🥾 Every mile dedicated to raising money to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. 

My wife Sarah was born with Cystic Fibrosis. At that time, the idea of her graduating college, getting married, and living a full adult life seemed impossible. Today, because of groundbreaking research funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, she’s doing all of those things, and more. Shortly after Sarah and I met, she had the opportunity to be a part of the clinical trials for Trikafta, a gene therapy for CF. Trikafta has been a miracle, made possible through money raised from events like the Xtreme Hike. Breathing treatments every day went from hours to minutes. Pills went from 20+ a day to just a few. And her CF related diabetes all but disappeared, shocking her doctors. But Trikafta doesn’t reverse the damage already done, it’s not a cure, and it doesn’t work for everyone with Cystic Fibrosis. 

So we continue to hike, we continue to climb that mountain, because every mile and every dollar gets us closer to making CF stand for Cure Found. 💪
