The Hikers Journey
The North Carolina Spring Xtreme Hike will take you on an out-and-back section of the Appalachian Trail from Hot Springs to Allen Gap. This section of the Appalachian Trail offers a rewarding experience for those looking to challenge themselves and enjoy the natural beauty of some of the most iconic points on the Appalachian Trail.
Hikers will check in on Friday, May 1st at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Asheville. We will host a pre-hike pasta party and hold a safety briefing. Then it’s lights out!
On Saturday morning, May 2nd, hikers check in around 2:30am before boarding a 15-passenger van to be shuttled to the trailhead. Three fully stocked aid stations will provide an assortment of food and drink along the trail. 30.8-miles later enjoy a Finish Line Celebration with fellow hikers and volunteers. Hikers are then shuttled back to the hotel for a post-hike celebration party and open bar.
On Sunday morning, May 3rd, hikers enjoy a Victory Awards Breakfast before their return trip home. Our Sunday program is one of the best parts of the weekend so please plan to be there!
Join us today and walk away with more than just a feeling that you made a difference in the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis.
