Spring 2026 will be third Xtreme Hike! I am so excited to be coaching this year and to continue to pursue the journey of finding a cure for all CF patients.
Just in the short 3 years that I've been dedicated to this mission, the foundation has supported ground breaking drugs and helped to increase the life expectancy for CF'ers again.
When I started this, I had no direct connection to CF but now I have so many. Not only Leah's nephew Edward, who we hike for, but so many others that I've gotten to spend time with on the trail or with their family members who hike for them.
Living with CF is no joke y'all - even with the ground breaking drugs that are now available. There are limitations. Daily enzymes. Modified diets. Clinic visits. Daily drugs. Side effects. Risk of any respiratory illness. And so much more.
And no matter what....
There is STILL no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I'm hiking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
