My CF Cycle for Life Story

Fundraising for Utah CF Cycle for Life 2026

I was diagnosed with CF as an adult after struggling for many years with unexplained symptoms. It’s a genetic disease that requires two genetic mutations to be present for an official diagnosis. I’m incredibly fortunate that as my body was starting to take a turn for the worse, my siblings, my doctor and I finally found a successful diagnosis. Equally fortuitous, the medication that has been a lifesaver for me had only been approved about a year before. Two of my siblings were officially diagnosed shortly afterwards, and have enjoyed similar improvements, while three others have symptoms but only one mutation so aren’t officially diagnosed.
The research that led to the medication being developed was largely funded by donations like these. Thanks to those efforts, I have been able to return to a normal life, for which I am so grateful!!
Sadly, there are many who are not as fortunate, who have a version of the disease that doesn’t respond to existing medications. I’m cycling to help fund research that will eventually put an end to those very sad situations.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
