My Great Strides Story
Fundraising for Wakefield Great Strides 2026
Sharon Donovan
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for considering support to Tommy’s Team in this year’s Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Great Strides Walk on Saturday, May 9, 2026. It is a three mile walk at Breakheart Reservation in Saugus. (New location this year.)
Because of your past generosity, passion, and belief in this cause, last year we were honored to be named the Massachusetts / Rhode Island Chapters Rookie of the Year Team. That recognition belongs to you — every donor, walker, cheerleader, and supporter who stood beside us.
This year, we walk with the same gratitude and an even stronger purpose.
Thomas just turned two and has now started taking the groundbreaking medication Trikafta. We are incredibly hopeful and excited about what this treatment could mean for his health and his future. At the same time, we know that even transformational medications can have side effects, don’t work the same way for everyone, and are not a cure. While Trikafta represents extraordinary progress, there is still so much work to be done.
Thomas is also approaching the age when cystic fibrosis symptoms often begin to present, and while incredible advancements have been made, the journey is far from over. We continue to push for ongoing research, expanded access to life-changing treatments, and ultimately, a cure not just for Thomas,, but for every person living with CF. We want a world where there is a cure for all.
Every step we take and every dollar raised brings us closer to:
• More effective and accessible treatments
• Longer, healthier lives for people with CF
• A future where CF no longer limits what’s possible
Every dollar truly matters.
Every donation is one step closer to better treatments, breakthrough research, and hope for families like ours.
Thank you for walking with us, believing in progress, and helping us fight for a world without cystic fibrosis.
We are so grateful to have you on Tommy’s Team.
💙 Together, we stride toward a cure
