Why I Hike
This year's Yosemite Xtreme Hike is much more than a physical challenge for me.
I'm hiking for my daughter, Ellie.
Ellie is 15 years old and lives with cystic fibrosis, a progressive genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Thanks to incredible advances in research and treatment, she's thriving and able to do many of the things any teenager hopes to do.
We are profoundly grateful for that progress. But our experience isn't everyone's experience. Not every person with CF can benefit from the latest therapies, and many continue to face significant health challenges every day.
Most importantly, there is still no cure.
On the Yosemite Xtreme Hike, we'll cover 10 miles, climb nearly 2,800 feet, and reach elevations approaching 11,000 feet. While the hike will be challenging, it pales in comparison to what many individuals and families affected by CF face every day.
By supporting my hike, you're helping fund critical research, advance new treatments, and move us closer to a future where every person with cystic fibrosis has the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you for your support and for joining us in the fight to end CF.
Please consider making a donation and helping create a future without cystic fibrosis.
