My Breathe Team Story
Fundraising for 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
Allison Brown
Jones Meinhold is a silly, energetic, and creative self titled 'mountain kid.' He's never met a surface he can't climb to the top of, he can turn anything into a game, and at just 4 years old, he's the life of the party.
He's also the bravest and strongest four year old you'll ever meet. In between running around after his big brother, and begrudgingly sharing with his little sister, Jones’ days are marked by percussion vest treatments, inhalers, nebulizer treatments, twice daily medications, and very frequent doses of enzymes.
Nothing about Jones' personality makes you think he’s a kid with a chronic illness, but Jones is a Cystic fibrosis fighter. CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
This fall I’m thrilled to be running the Chicago marathon with the breathe team. All donations will be going to help find a cure for CF. I run for Jones & I run for a cure!
