My Breathe Team Story
Fundraising for 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
Chandler Hutchens
This fall, I’ll be running my first marathon — and I’m dedicating every mile to my niece, Cate.
Cate is 12 years old and living with cystic fibrosis (CF), a genetic, life-shortening disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. I’ve watched her and my sister work tirelessly through countless treatments, setbacks, and triumphs. Cate is smart, kind, fiercely independent, and she’s truly going to change the world!
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis, and too many people with CF still die young. But with your help, we can change that.
Every person born with CF is on a unique journey. While progress has been made, there’s still a long road ahead for too many families. By supporting my run with a donation, you’ll help fund the research and science needed to find a cure — so that every person with CF has the chance to live a long, healthy life.
I’m running to honor Cate, to push myself to be better, and to fight for a future free from cystic fibrosis.
Will you join me in this mission and help make every mile matter?
