My Breathe Team Story

Fundraising for 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
Colleen Ogren
Hi everybody! Thank you so much for visiting my donation page. Any contribution to this cause is greatly appreciated. If you don't know Erin (Ernie), she is my best friend who has been fighting Cystic Fibrosis for 30 years. Throughout our friendship, I have witnessed recent treatments change her life exponentially. (Actually though, we went from breaks during a casual walk to hardcore pilates princess). This would not be possible without the generous donations friends and families make every year to work towards a cure. While running to benefit Erin and others with CF, I also run to honor and remember Erin's younger sister Colleen who passed away from CF in 2013. To learn more about Cystic Fibrosis, please read the information below this welcome message. <3
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m running to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
