The Hiker's Journey
Before the big event, we'll host training hikes every other weekend throughout the summer to help you prepare. These hikes are a great way to build endurance and confidence for Xtreme Hike Weekend. Each session will take place on a different trail, offering new challenges and experiences to get you ready for the adventure ahead. Stay tuned, our full training hike schedule will be announced soon!
The Hike weekend starts on Friday; hikers will check in at Shenandoah Crossings in Gordonsville. We will host a pre-hike pasta party and hold a safety briefing. Then it's lights out! On Saturday morning, September 19th, hikers check in around 2:30am before boarding a 15-passenger van to be shuttled to the trailhead. Fully stocked aid stations will provide an assortment of food and drink along the trail. 26 or 13-miles later enjoy a Finish Line Celebration with fellow hikers and volunteers. Hikers are then shuttled back to the hotel for a post-hike celebration party. On Sunday morning, September 20th, hikers enjoy a Victory Awards Breakfast before their return trip home.
Xtreme Hike is open to everyone, whether this is your bucket-list adventure or you're a seasoned hiker. By joining our training hikes, you'll gain the confidence and endurance to conquer either the half or full marathon-distance challenge.
There's nothing quite like the camaraderie built on the trail. Come be part of our Hike family and experience the journey together!
