We Fight for a Cure as the fight is not complete until a Cure is Found!
Huron Consulting Group, the organization for which I work, has been a sponsor of the Hike for 13 years, assuming the sponsorship after acquiring AXIA Consulting and reaffirming their commitment to the Fight for a Cure as the Presenting Sponsor, again, for this year's Gateway Chapter Xtreme Hike.
Huron Hikers have supported Team Isabelle and the Trokey's for the past 12 years as hikers. This year we are hiking for Team David. David is the brother-in-law of our colleague, Sophia Council, and we are proud to support Team David's efforts to make a difference in the Fight. Though many victims of CF have benefitted tremendously from the advances in medications made only possible due to fundraising efforts like the Xtreme Hike, the Fight will not be complete until CF means, "Cure Found".
Through our involvement, we have learned so much about this horrible disease and gotten to know many victims and their families. On a tragic note, we have seen the impacts of the disease. However, from a positive perspective, we have seen the results of the advances in treatments, medications, and research made only possible through the grass roots fundraising and awareness via events like Xtreme Hike.
By donating to my fundraising goal, you can be assured your donations will go directly to funding ongoing research which has allowed many victims like David and Isabelle to stay out of the hospital for the past 10+ years. The efforts are working and, with your help, I am confident a Cure will be Found in our lifetimes for CF. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a winning organization...support a winner!
