Thank you for visiting my page! David and I have been friends for more than 14 years. We met in summer school before freshman year of high school, and became close through cross country that fall. Some of my earliest memories of our friendship are running alongside him, while he was also managing cystic fibrosis in the background. My unawareness of what David was dealing with at the time has always stuck with me. CF has been part of David’s life for as long as I’ve known him, but it has never been the thing that defines him. Through every challenge and change dealing with CF, he has continued to take life head-on, seemingly always with a smile on his face and with a passion for helping others. On Saturday, September 26, I’ll be joining David for my first Gateway Xtreme Hike, taking on 30 miles in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Over the years, as I’ve gained a better understanding of what living with CF actually involves, and how much progress has been made through continued research and treatment, it has become clear to me how important the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been in supporting that progress, including treatments that have made a real difference in David’s life. That is a big part of why this hike means so much to me. It is a chance to do something alongside one of my closest friends while supporting a cause that has had a direct impact on his life and on many others living with CF. If you would like to support us, any donation or share of this page is greatly appreciated. Thank you for supporting David, everyone living with cystic fibrosis, and all of us taking on the hike!
