SoCal Xtreme Hike 2026

Ready to go the distance and join us for our annual hike to cure cystic fibrosis!?
Hosted by the Southern California Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, this year’s Xtreme Hike event will take us to the Inyo National Forest!  Hikers will follow the North Fork Big Pine Creek Trail into the John Muir Wilderness, enjoying breathtaking views of vibrant turquoise waters and cool alpine forests, while navigating rocky switchbacks that require significant physical stamina.  This trek is a classic Eastern Sierra experience, famous for its dramatic granite backdrop and some of California’s most photographed alpine scenery.  With a steady incline of 2,358ft. – 3,740ft., and a total elevation of up to 11,200 ft., the Xtreme Hike is both a physical and philanthropic challenge, requiring grit, determination, and a commitment to making a difference.
To have the best experience possible, we ask that every hiker takes the time to prepare physically and pledge to raise the $2,500 fundraising minimum, or more, for the cause.  Every dollar raised supports our mission to provide adults and children with CF in the U.S. a better chance at living a long, healthy life.
In appreciation for your fundraising commitment, the Xtreme Hike weekend includes:
  • 2 nights of hotel accommodations (Friday and Saturday)
  • Friday night group kick-off dinner with safety briefing and top fundraising awards
  • Event t-shirt
  • Event swag bag, including supplemental snacks and bag lunch for Saturday
  • Experienced hike guides on Saturday
  • 5-month endurance training calendar (April – September)
  • Organized local group training hikes to help prepare you for the big weekend
  • Support and guidance from me and the XH committee, every step of the way!
