Yosemite Xtreme Hike

Every Xtreme Hike participant is driven by a dream that all people with cystic fibrosis should have the chance to live a long, healthy life. By joining us at Yosemite Xtreme Hike, you can help make a difference for people living with CF.
At Yosemite Xtreme Hike, hikers are supported by trained hike guides from YExplore, leading them safely throughout the trail from beginning to end. You can expect breathtaking views, a wealth of knowledge from your guides, to meet new friends, and to share stories on the trail. You will be supported and encouraged in making it to your personal summit - all while fundraising to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.
2025 Trail Options
Option 1: 18 miles & 4,619 elevation gain
Hikers will begin the hike at Porcupine Creek Trailhead and follow the North Dome Trail toward Indian Arch. The trail begins through a dense forest, gradually climbing with occasional views opening up to distant peaks. As they approach Indian Arch, hikers will find themselves looking out over Yosemite Valley, with Half Dome and North Dome rising majestically in the distance. The arch itself is a unique natural feature, framed by forest and offering an excellent spot for a rest. From Indian Arch, hikers will continue toward North Dome. This section steepens as they ascend, but the effort is rewarded with dramatic views. From the summit of North Dome, hikers will have an unparalleled view of Half Dome, looking at it from the opposite side, along with a sweeping panorama of Yosemite Valley, Tenaya Canyon, and the Sierra Nevada peaks in the distance. The rugged landscape around them is breathtaking, making it an ideal place for a break. Next, hikers will head toward Yosemite Point, a fantastic lookout point that gives them sweeping views over the valley. The view is one of the most iconic in Yosemite, offering a bird’s-eye perspective of the valley. Hikers will continue their journey to Yosemite Falls. Depending on the water levels, the falls could be a thundering cascade or a gentler stream, but either way, it’s a stunning sight. For the final leg, hikers will descend back toward the starting point. Throughout the hike, hikers will be treated to diverse, changing landscapes—from lush forests to vast, open vistas, with incredible viewpoints at each stop, showcasing the awe-inspiring scale of Yosemite.
