How far would you go for a cure? Get ready to go the distance and join us for our annual Rocky Mountain Chapter Xtreme Hike to cure cystic fibrosis! Your support helps the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation fund the research and care needed to help advance a cure for this disease. While we've made significant progress, we still have a long way to go. 
About the Steamboat Xtreme Hike
Join us in Steamboat Springs, Colorado for a weekend like no other! Hikers will take on the challenge of hiking up to 20 miles on beautiful Steamboat Mountain's well-maintained trails, while enjoying breathtaking views. With access to the resort's gondola, hikers can "choose their own adventure" on the many trails and loops available. The elevation of the Colorado Rockies provides a unique and serious challenge for this event, with a starting elevation of almost 7,000 feet and reaching over 10,000 feet at the summit.
The Hike Weekend Experience
Hikers will enjoy accommodations for two nights (Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20) at the Gravity Haus at Steamboat's base area. This 3-day experience also includes a pre-hike welcome dinner on Friday evening, a grab and go breakfast before the hike on Saturday, snacks at the rest stops, a post-hike happy hour and dinner, and a celebration breakfast on Sunday. 

Get Ready to Hike

Register: Join us for a day of celebration, community and fun! Let's unite to bring hope and joy to those affected by CF and work towards a future where everyone can breathe easier. Click the “Register” button. 

Recruit: Invite friends, family, and colleagues to join you. Together, we can make a bigger impact.

Fundraise: Share why you're hiking and ask your networks to help you reach your fundraising goal via email and/or social media. You can also host a passion fundraising event and check if your employer offers a matching gift program to increase the impact of your efforts. 

Registered participants will receive a 3-month suggested training schedule to prepare for the physical challenge of the Xtreme Hike. Hikers who require hotel accommodations (double occupancy) are encouraged to raise at least $2,500, while hikers who have their own accommodations are asked to raise at least $1,500. The Steamboat Xtreme Hike is limited to 50 people.
